Ex-Google CISO Gerhard Eschelbeck Joins WootCloud Board of Directors

San Jose, CA (Feb 5, 2020) WootCloud, Inc. today announced the appointment of Gerhard Eschelbeck to the company’s Board of Directors. Gerhard is widely regarded as one of the foremost experts on network and system security and has launched innovative and successful companies and built high-performance multi-national teams in the US, Europe and Asia.

Gerhard recently retired from Google, where he was Vice President Security and Privacy Engineering (CISO), and has held CTO positions at Qualys, Sophos and Webroot. He has a passion for championing new technologies and was invited to present his research in information security to the U.S. Congress, and was named one of InfoWorld’s 25 Most Influential CTO’s. He published the “Laws of Vulnerabilities” and is one of the inventors of the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS). Gerhard has a Ph.D in computer science from University Linz, Austria, and holds numerous patents in the field of managed network security
